In Malaysia, we are never short of places to visit. It is time to add another destination into our bucket list. Time to head east to Terengganu! There are many points of interest here. You will find all the beautiful islands here including Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. The latest addition is not a beach! Asean’s Very First Drawbridge Is Now Open At Kuala Terengganu.
Drawbridge at Terengganu
Sure, the drawbridge was made to ease the congestion that has been happening in Terengganu. But, we have to admit that it looks pretty good. So good, that it is going to be a tourist attraction. The 638 meters drawbridge is in complete white except for the tips and it comes with 16 storey towers and two connecting sky bridges. Take a look at the photos, it’s gorgeous!
Asean’s first ever drawbridge that connects Kuala Terengganu and Kuala Nerus had a very good opening on the 2nd of June 2019 with many people stopping by to see it. The drawbridge garnered many cars lining up in both directions to be the first users of the drawbridge. As soon as the road cones were removed, motorists and motorcyclists joyfully sounded their alarms!
As it was the opening, many others stopped by on the side to watch the drawbridge being raised. Some even came as early as 6:00 a.m. to marvel the beauty of the bridge! Unfortunately, the footpath for the bridge is yet to be ready. With that said, only cars and motorcycles are able to pass by the bridge for now. We will keep you updated when it is ready!
More Reasons To Visit The East Side!
Honestly, we are very that Malaysia has the very first drawbridge in Asean countries. Not only it would ease the congestion for Terengganu, but it has also become one of the most notable landmarks for Terengganu. Naturally, if you are ever stopping by there, you will need to visit and experience the bridge being raised at least once in your lifetime!
