Sprite Is Replacing Their Iconic Green Bottles With Clear Plastic That’s Easier To Recycle

Let's go clear this time!

The world population is growing, and currently, each human being adds significant waste to the planet over his or her lifetime. As we know, one of the most popular and easiest ways to be eco-friendly is recycling. Every home and office is finding ways to make sure that proper disposal and recycling is done is a fantastic way to save the planet. Recently, the drink’s manufacturer, Coca-Cola UK, has just announced that they are joining the line too to save the planet: Sprite is replacing their iconic green bottles with clear plastic that’s easier to recycle.

Sprite: Say Goodbye to The Green Bottles!

Sprite bottles have been green for 58 years since the drink first launched in 1961. Unfortunately, it is more difficult to recycle a green bottle into a clear bottle through mechanical recycling, which is the most widespread recycling method. In order to make everything more eco-friendly, Coca-cola UK is replacing the iconic green bottles of Sprites to clear plastic on this coming September.

No worries foodies, the drinks manufacturer confirmed that it is not passing the cost of the new bottles onto supermarkets. So the prices for shoppers should remain the same. And yes, you still can get your favourite Sprite at the usual price.

However, changing the bottles of Sprite worldwide is not an easy task and probably takes much time. So let’s be patient and wait for the new bottles coming to Malaysia. But what do you think about the changes? Some say it’s a good idea, some say it looks less tasty than before. How about you? Let us know your opinion in the comment section!
